In 2018 we held our first annual Pumpkin Destruction Day and it has quickly become the family event for all ages in the Tennessee Valley. We cap off the end of each season with a SMASHING day at the farm. Pumpkin Destruction Day includes all of our regular activities and hayrides, while adding Pumpkin Smashing, Monster Truck shows, Monster Truck rides, and special shows and events to our already high energy day. We end the night with a HUGE firework show

Watch as a HUGE pile of pumpkins EXPLODES in the air as your feel the blast featuring Tannerite explode from across the field. Show time will be listed prior to Destruction Day.
Pumpkin Smash Zone

The pumpkin smash zones are set up at the back of the farm on Destruction Day. Get a bat to smash a pumpkin off a tee, use a mallet or even a golf club, but today is all about smashing pumpkins. Great for all ages for a smashing fun day. All pumpkins for smashing are included in admission.
Kiddie Smash Zones

The Kiddie Smash Zones are ideal for those little ones wanting in on the fun. Let them smash, drop and bowl to their delight. Smash Zones are included in admission, including all the pumpkins your little one wants to throw and smash.

End the night and celebrate our 30th year with the largest fireworks show around. Brought to you by the team that does Fireworks from Nashville to Gulf Shores, this isn’t your mom-and-pop show. Featuring over 10 minutes of fireworks and music it is sure to end your day with smiles and memories.

Take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch where you can pick a jack o'lantern from the vine. Pumpkins picked from the field and those in the market are not for smashing and are not included in the admission for Pumpkin Destruction Day and are sold separately. Pumpkins for smashing are located in piles around the farm and are included in admission.
Monster Truck Rides
Monster Truck Rides
Featuring a ride truck that holds 8, make your dreams come true by riding in the bed of the monster truck as it races around the track. This is always a hit with all ages and produces priceless memories, laughs and photographs. This activity is a seperate charge and is $10.00 per person.
Play Barns

The play barn is the focal point of our pumpkin yard. Featuring two stories of stairs, climbers, and sensory play, the play barn is great for all ages. At the top of the silo, you can find two 60-foot slides which have been a staple at Tate Farms for more than a decade.
Jump Pad

Tate Farms features 3 jumping pads for hours of jumping fun. This activity, which is great for all ages, allows your entire family a way to jump on the 30×70 pads spread throughout the farmyard.
Corn Train

This corny ride features barrels of fun for all ages to enjoy. Ride as a single or double unit as you are pulled by a tractor on the perimeter of the farm.

Tate Farms features 4 corn cribs full of corn grown here on our family’s farm. An activity great for all ages as you use your imagination to swim, bury and dig into bushels and bushels of corn.

NEW for 2023, Tate Farms features the only dairy-go-round in North America. This one of a kind carousel was built and shipped from Italy exclusively for Tate Farms. Featuring a 42 person capacity, this carousel features farm themed animals such as goats, horses, pigs, roosters, sheep and cows.

Taking all adults back to their childhood days, our Fun Slides are great for all ages. Sit on the provided carpet as you zoom down the slide to the landing platform, racing your friends and family. Well lit at night this activity is perfect for fun during the day and one-of-a-kind pictures of joy at night.
Apple Cannon

Enjoy shooting apples at farm targets as they explode on impact. This activity is a separate charge and is 4 apples for $5 or 10 apples for $10. This activity is CARD ONLY and you can pay at the apple cannon.
Barnyard Animals
Barnyard Animals
Come visit the celebrities of the farmyard featuring babydoll sheep, goats, rabbits, Darla, our miniature cows, the pot belly pig and the donkey. Our barnyard animals allow you to see animals in their natural habitat as they graze on grass, enjoy a pumpkin snack, and interact with our staff. These animals are part of our family and are cared for year-round by Homer Tate's great granddaughters.
Pedal Karts

The pedal kart track located on the southwest corner of the farmyard features single and double rider pedal karts. Always a hit for all ages, enjoy a turn or two around the track for full family fun and laughs.
Little Farmer Playground
Little Farmer Playground
Little Farmer Playground has been exclusively designed for Tate Farms by Little Tikes for hands-on play allowing little farmers to stimulate their imaginations and explore their surroundings. Featuring multiple climbers, 4 slides, a roller slide, sensory toys, and tunnels. The Little Farmer Playground features rubber mulch and seating around the perimeter. Little Farmer Playground is targeted for ages 7 and under.

Whether you get your annual picture with our “How tall this Fall” display, take your family picture at the Pumpkin House, or enjoy all of our hay art, the opportunities for insta-worthy pictures are available at every turn.
